Managed TP-Link Omada
Network Support

Ongoing Omada network management, delivered entirely remotely via a secure self-hosted controller.

Remote TP-Link Omada Network Management

Once your Omada access points, switches and gateway are installed, keeping the network running well is an ongoing job — firmware needs updating, Wi-Fi networks need managing, new devices need adopting, and problems need diagnosing quickly. Elliott-IT-Services provides fully remote, ongoing Omada network management via a secure self-hosted controller — no site visit needed for day-to-day management, and no physical hardware controller required on your premises.

Whether your network was installed by us or by someone else, we can take over ongoing management as long as your devices can be adopted onto our controller or we're given appropriate access.

What's Included

Network Monitoring

Continuous uptime monitoring of access points, switches and your gateway, with alerts if a device goes offline or performance drops.

Firmware & Updates

Firmware updates applied to all Omada devices on a managed schedule, closing security vulnerabilities and improving stability without disrupting your network.

Wi-Fi Configuration

Wireless network setup and changes, guest Wi-Fi portals, band steering, channel optimisation and coverage troubleshooting — all handled remotely.

VLAN & Network Segmentation

Separating guest, staff and device traffic onto isolated VLANs for better security and performance — configured and maintained remotely.

Device Adoption & Provisioning

New access points, switches or gateways added to your network are remotely adopted onto the controller and configured to match your existing setup.

Fast Remote Troubleshooting

Wi-Fi dead zones, dropped connections, slow speeds and device conflicts diagnosed and resolved via the controller, usually without needing anyone on site.

How Remote Omada Management Works

We use a self-hosted Omada Software Controller — TP-Link's official management software, running on our own infrastructure rather than requiring a physical OC200 or OC300 hardware controller on your premises, or relying on TP-Link's cloud-based Omada Central. This gives us direct, secure, always-on visibility and control over your network:

Why Businesses Choose Omada

TP-Link's Omada range is a strong, cost-effective alternative to Ubiquiti UniFi, offering similar enterprise-grade features — centralised management, VLANs, guest network portals and seamless Wi-Fi roaming between access points — often at a lower hardware cost. It's a solid choice for small businesses that want professional network management without premium pricing. We support both UniFi and Omada, and can advise which platform best fits your budget and requirements.

Who This Is For

Managed Omada support suits small businesses who have Omada hardware already installed (by us or a previous installer) and want reliable, ongoing management without hiring in-house IT staff, buying a hardware controller, or paying for a site visit every time something needs adjusting. It's also well suited to businesses with multiple sites, since one self-hosted controller can manage several locations from a single dashboard.

Pricing

Ad-hoc Omada work — configuration changes, troubleshooting, one-off adjustments — is charged at our standard business rate of £75/hr.

For ongoing management, we offer fixed monthly plans based on the number of sites and devices, covering monitoring, firmware updates and a set amount of configuration support each month. Contact us for a tailored quote.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is managed Omada network support?

Managed Omada support means we take ongoing responsibility for your TP-Link Omada network remotely via a secure self-hosted controller — monitoring uptime, applying firmware updates, managing Wi-Fi networks and VLANs, and responding quickly to connectivity issues, without needing a site visit.

Do you need a TP-Link hardware controller (OC200/OC300) on site?

No. We run a self-hosted software Omada Controller on our own infrastructure, which manages your access points, switches and gateway remotely — you don't need a physical OC200 or OC300 controller box on site at all.

Can you manage my Omada network if someone else installed it?

Yes. As long as your devices can be adopted onto our management controller or we're given appropriate access, we can take over ongoing management regardless of who carried out the original installation.

What is a self-hosted Omada controller?

The Omada Software Controller is TP-Link's management software for Omada access points, switches and gateways. A self-hosted controller runs on our own infrastructure rather than requiring TP-Link's cloud-based Omada Central or a physical hardware controller, giving us direct, secure, always-on access to monitor and configure your network remotely.

Is TP-Link Omada as good as Ubiquiti UniFi?

Omada is a strong, cost-effective alternative to UniFi, offering similar enterprise-grade features — centralised management, VLANs, guest portals and seamless roaming — often at a lower hardware cost. We support both platforms and can advise which suits your budget and requirements.

How much does managed Omada support cost?

Ad-hoc Omada work is charged at £75/hr. For ongoing management we offer fixed monthly plans based on the number of sites and devices — contact us for a tailored quote.
